The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE), in collaboration with UN Global Compact, UN Women, Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative, International Finance Corporation (IFC), World Federation of Exchanges, and Women in ETFs organized ‘Ring the Bell for Gender Equality’ program on international women’s day with the theme ‘“Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow.” The World Federation of Exchanges announced that a record 121 exchanges and Central counterparty clearing houses (CCPs) are taking part in this year’s event across the world.
The program was hosted by the MD of GSE, Mr.Ekow Afedzie, his Deputy MD, Ms.Abena Amoah and other Management members and staff of GSE
The keynote speaker was Rosy Fynn, Country Head of the Mastercard Foundation and was ably supported Yawa Hansen-Quao, Founder of Leading Ladies’ Network and Executive Director of Emerging Public Leaders; Constance Swaniker, Founder and CEO of DTI and A&A; Antoinette Kwofie, CFO of MTN; Dr. Dzifa De, Director of The Rheumatology Initiative, Ghana, and Regina Honu ,CEO of Soronko Academy. These speakers together highlighted the need for women to speak out and showcase the great things being done by women to inspire the younger generation.
In attendance were Representatives from International Finance Corporation (IFC), led by the Senior Country Officer, Ghana Cluster of Countries Cemile Hacibeyoglu.
The Chairperson of GSE, Mrs. Abena Osei-Poku in her closing remarks thanked everyone for coming including Zonta Club, Soroptimist Club, Leading ladies Network, Women in Finance and Investment, and Emerging Public Leaders.
