Managing Director

Abena Amoah

Abena Amoah is the first female Managing Director of the Ghana Stock Exchange, appointed by the Exchange’s Council on November 24, 2022. Ms. Amoah, who joined the Exchange as Deputy Managing Director on August 1, 2020, has been in the capital market industry over the past 24 years and is highly respected for her technical knowledge, business acumen, outstanding professionalism, and integrity.
Ms. Amoah is an accomplished investment banker and capital markets expert who has led many landmark transactions for over 24 years. Abena’s experience covers stock market listings and trading, mergers and acquisitions advisory, investment research, asset management, private placement of equity, debt and hybrid instruments, large infrastructure project development, business start-ups and incubation, public education on investment and financial matters, and capital markets development strategies, across diverse sectors of the Ghanaian environment.

She has served on boards of companies – publicly listed, private and not-for-profit – such as Access Bank PLC, African Women’s Development Fund, Ghana Stock Exchange, Ghana Petroleum Funds, Kosmos Energy Ghana HC Advisory Council, The Foschini Group Ghana Ltd, University of Ghana Council, Venture Capital Trust Fund and Wapic Insurance Ghana Ltd. She has been an advisor to the Government of Ghana and financial sector regulators in West Africa on the deepening of financial markets and is highly respected in her industry for her outstanding professionalism and integrity.
Abena started her career as an investment analyst and stockbroker, growing to build and lead top investment banks in Ghana. She has previously worked with the BlackIvy Group LLC, where she led development of the 400-acre WestPark Industrial Park at Shama in the Western Region; Renaissance Group, where she was CEO of NewWorld Renaissance Securities Ltd and Head of Investment Banking & Finance in West Africa (ex-Nigeria) for Renaissance Capital; and Strategic African Securities Ltd, where she was the Executive Director of the company.
Abena is an alumna of the University of Ghana Business School and has also undertaken academic and leadership studies at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, Harvard Business School and the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business, all in the USA. She was a founding executive of the Ghana Securities Industry Association, an Authorised Dealing Officer of the Ghana Stock Exchange and an Assessor (Capital Markets Expert) of the Commercial Division of the High Court of Ghana.

Deputy Managing Director

Frank Yoofi Mensa Berle

Frank Berle is a well-rounded finance professional with decades of practical experience, adept at finance & accounting, capital market processes, taxation, financial economics, wealth management and performance optimization.

Frank joined the Exchange in January 2004 as Manager, Finance & Operations, and then as Head of Finance & Administration in 2007. He served as Head of Securities Clearing & Settlement whiles as the Group Head, Finance & Administration when the Exchange has a fully owned subsidiary, the GSE Securities Depository (GSD) Ltd in 2008. Frank reverted to his current position in January 2015 after the merger between the GSD and Central Securities Depository Ghana Ltd.

Prior to joining the Exchange, he served as a Financial Accountant for various companies including Coconut Groove Hotel, Elmina, and Cadbury Ghana Ltd. He was a lecturer at the, now, Cape Coast Technical University in the 1997/98 academic year and taught at the School of Business Studies, University of Cape Coast in 1993/94.

Frank has extensive leadership and professional training in finance & accounting, business strategy and capital market regulation including study tours to many Exchanges in Africa, America, Asia, and Europe. He earned recognition as a Manson House Scholar, in 2007, for his executive training in Capital Markets regulation at the London Stock Exchange; and further acknowledged, by the World Bank Group for his contribution to one of their flagship publications.

Frank is a chartered accountant and has additional chartered qualifications in taxation, financial economics, and wealth management. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Ghana, and has memberships of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana, Association of Certified Chartered Economics, USA, Global Academy of Finance & Management, USA and the Institute of Directors, Ghana.

Frank further holds the chartered management accounting qualification and membership of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), UK. He subsequently earned the coveted Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA), the largest global accountancy body that combines the strength of the American CPA and the British CIMA.

Frank Berle completed his secondary education at the St. Augustine’s College, Cape Coast, then to University of Cape Coast where he obtained a Master of Philosophy degree in Economics; and a Bachelor of Commerce degree, with first class, done concurrently with Diploma in Education.

Head, Strategy & International Relations

Diana Okine

Mrs Diana Okine is currently the Deputy General Manager in charge of Strategy & International Relations at the Ghana Stock Exchange. Her roles include ensuring the successful implementation of the GSE’s Strategic plan, maintaining GSE’s strategic alliances and relationship with international partners and donors, Capital Market Associations as well as governmental relations.
She has been with the Exchange since its establishment in 1990 serving in various capacities including Company Secretary, Head of Education and Head of Marketing & PR. She has been instrumental in mapping out the strategic direction of the GSE and the formulation of GSE’s Strategic plans including the current 3-year plan. She has extensive experience and exposure in capital market operations and activities through various international and local training.
Diana holds a BA (Hons) in Psychology with Linguistics and an MBA (Marketing) from the University of Ghana, Legon. She also holds a Diploma in PR and Advertising from the Ghana Institute of Journalism. She is an Accredited Member of the Institute of Public Relations and a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG).
She serves on the Board of the Ghana Investment Securities Institute (GISI) and is a member of the Education and Training Committee of the GSIA as well as the Capacity Building Working Group of the African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA).

Head, Ghana Fixed Income Market

Augustine Simons

Augustine started his working career in Information Technology as a Systems Administrator with the IT Department of Bank of Ghana in May 1995.

In 2001 he was seconded from the Central Bank to the West African Monetary Institute (WAMI) as Information Technology Manager when WAMI was established and returned to Bank of Ghana in 2003. He was reassigned from the IT Department to the Central Securities Depository of Bank of Ghana to join the management team of the Securities Depository in the following year.

He later moved to the Ghana Stock Exchange in July 2006 to join the management team of the Exchange to play a leading role in the automation of the Exchange and lead key strategic development in information technology and other important initiatives at the Exchange. These included the establishment of the GSE Securities Depository and its later merger with the Central Securities Depository of Bank of Ghana to form the Central Securities Depository (GH) Ltd as well as the establishment of the Ghana Alternative Market and the Ghana Fixed Income Market.

Augustine served as the Head of the Information Technology Department of the Ghana Stock Exchange from July 2006 till July 2019 when he was reassigned to head the Ghana Fixed Income Market (GFIM) of the Ghana Stock Exchange, a market whose establishment in 2015, he played a key role in. He continues to spearhead various strategic initiatives in the capital market of Ghana. He also serves as a member of the Governing Committee of the Ghana Fixed Income Market and is a member of the Institute of Directors-Ghana (IoD-Gh).

He holds an EMBA University of Ghana, (Finance option) from Legon and a BSC (Computer Science) from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi.

Head, Listing & New Products

Joyce Esi Boakye

Joyce is the Head of the Listing and New Products Department of the Exchange. She joined the Exchange in October 1998 and has served in various capacities. Joyce holds an MBA (Finance option) and a BA (Hos) in Accounting and Finance, both from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) Business School. As Head of Listing and New Products, her duties include, but are not limited to, undertaking activities that would lead to an increase in listings on all the Ghana Stock Exchange's existing markets, as well as activities that would introduce new products or markets at the Exchange. She is also responsible for ensuring that listed companies adhere to their continuing listing obligations for compliance.

Joyce has been a member of committees that have worked on various rules of the Exchange, all geared at making the Exchange an efficient market. She has had vast exposure and training in various aspects of the operations of the capital market.

Head, Trading & Surveillance

Harriet Bus-Moses

Harriet Bus-Moses joined the Ghana Stock Exchange in 1998 and rose to assume the Head of Trading & Surveillance in 2019. She is responsible for maintaining market integrity through monitoring and surveillance of all market activities. Over the 24 years she has served in various capacities and Committees at the Exchange that are geared towards the strategic objectives of the Exchange and improving compliance by Licensed Dealing Members (LDMs) and their Registered Securities Dealers (RSDs) at the Ghana Stock Exchange. She has had immense experience, knowledge, exposure, and training in various aspects of the operations of the Capital Market.
Harriet holds an Executive Master of Business Administration (Project option) and a BSc in Business Administration (Banking and Finance option) both from the University of Ghana Business School.

Head, Information Technology

Eric Selase Edifor

Eric Selase Edifor heads the Technology Department of the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE). Eric is an Information Technology (IT) professional who has about Fourteen (14) years of working experience in the activities of the capital market, aligning technology with the strategic and operational directions of the GSE.
He joined the Exchange in 2008 and played a vital role in the automation of the securities trading operation of the Exchange and leads several digital transformation programs at the GSE. He also played a crucial role in interfacing the trading engine with the electronic securities depository, clearing and settlement systems of the GSE and the Central Securities Depository (CSD) Ghana in 2016.
Eric holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), an honorary Diploma in Network Engineering from the National Institute of Information Technology (NIIT) Ghana, a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Information Systems from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and an MBA with distinction from the Business School Netherlands (BSN).

Head, Marketing & Public Relations

Jerry Boachie-Danquah

Jerry is the Head of Marketing and Public Relations. He joined the Exchange in May 2021, having worked in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods and Oil Marketing industries spanning a period of 18 years holding various roles in Sales and Marketing.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Ghana Business School and an MBA in Marketing from Central University Graduate School, Ghana.
He is an accredited member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana and has vast experience and exposure in Sales and Marketing in Ghana and abroad.

Senior Manager, Human Resources

Eileen Owusu

Eileen Owusu is the Senior Manager, Human Resources at the Finance and Administration Department of the Exchange. She joined the Exchange in February 1993 and has served in various capacities.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Administration (Human Resource Management option) from the University of Ghana Business School, Legon.
As the Senior Manager for Human Resources, she is responsible for managing and coordinating the Human Resources and Administration functions of the Exchange to ensure the smooth functioning and provision of the appropriate support services to both internal and external stakeholders.

She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Human Resource Management, Ghana (CIHRM).
