PR. 179/2012 GGBL-RESIGNATION AND APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTORS

GGBL announces the resignation of Messrs. R. L. Pilkington and J. Lloyd from the Board of the company effective May 29, 2012.
 
The company also announces the appointment of Mr. Charles Kimeria Mwangi and Mrs. Katherine Joanna Seljeflot to the Board effective May 29, 2012.
 
Mr. Charles Kimeria Mwangi
Mr. Charles Kimeria Mwangi joined GGBL in May 2012 as the Finance Director. On May 29, 2012 he was appointed as an executive director on the GGBL Board of Directors. Prior to joining GGBL, he worked for Avago Technologies in the USA as Finance Director since 2009. After a brief career in Kenya, he relocated to the USA where he has built an illustrious finance career with various companies (mostly high tech) in the state of California including the Intel Corporation, Yahoo Incorporated, Cisco Incorporated and Affymetrix Incorporated from where he joined Avago Technologies. Mr. Mwangi has a Bsc in Engineering from University of Nairobi, an MBA in Finance from USIU, San Diego and an MSC in Applied Economics & Statistics from California State University. He is also a chartered accountant and a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants; he is also a CMA and a CFM with the American Institute of Management Accountants.
 
Mrs. Katherine Joanna Seljeflot
Mrs. Katherine Joanna Seljeflot is the HR Director for Diageo’s Africa Business. Mrs. Seljeflot who is a seasoned HR professional joined Diageo from Shell UK in June 2002 as the Capability Development Manager for Diageo Plc’s Global Finance operations.  In 2004 she was appointed as the HR Director for Global Finance. Then in 2006 she was appointed the Commercial HR Director for Diageo Great Britain. She held this role until May 2009 when she was appointed as the European HR Shared Services Director for Diageo Plc a position she held until she was appointed as the Global HR Shared Services Director in June 2010. She was appointed to her current role in September 2011. Kate is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (UK) and holds a BA (Hons) in French Studies from the University of Manchester.
